A Kurt Bestor Christmas

It's a holiday tradition. Enjoy the sights and sounds of A Kurt Bestor Christmas this holiday season.

"A Kurt Bestor Christmas" celebrates its 25th season when Emmy-award-winning and Grammy-nominated composer and performer, Kurt Bestor, returns to Abravanel Hall, December 13 through15, 2012. Tickets are now on sale online at www.arttix.org, by calling (801)355-ARTS, or at ArtTix Outlets. Show times are Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 and 8 p.m.

With the "Made in Utah" theme of this year's show, Kurt has invited Utah-native Grammy nominated violinist Jenny Oaks Baker to be one of his featured guests. Bestor and Baker received a Grammy nomination this year for her album "Wish Upon a Star: A Tribute to the Music of Walt Disney." The songs on the album were produced and arranged by Bestor who has worked on over six of Baker's 10 albums, including her latest CD entitled "Noel: Carols of Christmas Past." The CD was recently released and is now on sale.

Joining Baker as a special guest is Alex Sharpe from Ireland, a former member of the worldwide popular group Celtic Woman. Sharpe's Irish, soprano voice is featured in Bestor's production of Baker's new CD and will be singing a new, Gaelic version of Silent Night as well as an arrangement of the ancient, Yuletide song Wexford Carol. There will also be special guest appearances each night by Utah celebrities and musical luminaries, each paying tribute through song to Bestor's 25 years of holiday music making.
