Hollie Brown with Utah State Parks explains the top 5 State Park day-use locations and some tips to keep you and your family safe.

The Top 5 State Parks in Utah

1. Jordanelle State Park: Located east of Park City off Highway 40, offers covered day-use shelters, barbeque grills, restrooms, drinking water and concessionaires with boat rentals. The cost is $10 per car.

2. Rockport State Park: 5 miles southeast on SR 32 off I-80 near Wanship Shelters. Offers tables and barbeque grills, beach area, restrooms, water, close to a boat ramp. Group day-use areas and boats are available by reservation. The cost is $9 per car.

3. Deer Creek State Park: Located 10 miles south of Heber on Highway 189. Offers covered tables with barbeque grills, beach access, restrooms, water and boat rentals. The cost is $10 per car.

4. Utah Lake State Park: Located 3 miles west of I-15, from exit 268 (Center Street) in Provo. Offers picnic tables, barbeque grills, restrooms, water, spacious grass area, river near by. Cost is $9 per car.

5. Willard Bay State Park: Off I-15 near the town of Willard. Offers covered day-use cabanas, barbeque grills, restrooms, drinking water, and a beachfront location. Cost is $10 per car.

Campfire Safety Tips
- Build fires only in designated fire pits
- Clear away any possible fuels around the fire pit (leaves,branches,gasoline)
- Have a full bucket of water and a shovel on hand in case the fire gets out of control
- Don't leave the fire unattended
- Fully extinguish the fire when you are finished
