Melanie Douglass has been shaking things up in the fitness industry for 25 years. She is a Registered Dietitian, group fitness instructor, personal trainer, published author, and the Health and Fitness Expert for Studio 5/KSL-TV in Salt Lake City. Over the years, Melanie has worked as a program director, business executive, entrepreneur, international presenter, and as the Director of Fitness Accessories for ICON Health & Fitness, where she was responsible for product development, research, marketing, and sales of fitness accessories. She has been a presenter and keynote speaker at industry conferences including the IDEA World Fitness Convention, Canfitpro, MANIA, DCAC, and Utah Dietetic Association. In 2005, she was recognized by the American Dietetic Association as an “Industry Mover” for her work in developing innovative fitness and nutrition programs for the consumer market. She is the author of two books, “Tip-a-Day Guide for Healthy Living”, and the best-selling, “Losing it! 5 Keys to Successful Weight Loss that Work”. Melanie is a diehard music aficionado, which helped her create and produce several workout videos, including: StepTonic, DanceTonic, Switch, Re:Mix and Ruthless. In 2010, she launched the “10 Pound Challenge” program on Facebook, which grew from 250 users to over 11,000 in just a few years. Her most recent projects include being a contributing author for the new AFAA Group Fitness Instructor Certification textbook and the cover story feature for American Fitness Magazine (April 2018 issue).
