Brandi Bosworth with Ogden Nature Center explains how to create fresh green holiday swags.

Materials:

-An assortment of fresh greens.

Options include:

Eucalyptus (both seeded and spiral)

Yew

Spruces

Juniper

Holly

Nuts, pomegranates, berry clusters

-Wire

-Wire cutters

-Scissors

-Hand Pruners

-Ribbon or raffia

-Hot glue gun & glue

-Hanger for base (optional)

Directions:

Using a large spruce branch as a base, gather fresh greens into a pleasing arrangement. Hot glue pomegranates, nuts and berry clusters and other natural items into the arrangement as well. Then, simply wire the arrangement together at the top, creating a wire loop in the back for hanging. Affix a ribbon or raffia bow if you choose, or leave it fresh and natural.

Another option involves using a regular hanger as a base. For this arrangement, cut off the top of the hanger and squeeze the hanger together to form an upside down v-shaped base. Make mini clusters of greens and affix them to the base, beginning at the bottom and overlapping them to the top of the triangle shape. Add a bow or raffia if you choose.
