Four of Utah’s Best Eateries

On April 2, the 20th Anniversary issue of City Weeklys BEST OF UTAH will come out. We have an exclusive Studio 5 preview of a few of the great restaurants that will be featured.

Ted Scheffler, restaurant critic and Dining Editor for the Salt Lake City Weekly, reveals some of Utah’s Best Eateries.

The Pie

Located right next to the University of Utah campus, the Pie offers a fun and unique dining experience. It is below a pharmacy in a mood-lit cozy and casual area. This college hangout is one of the few Salt Lake eateries that stays open late. They offer enormous pizzas, ranging from Mountain of Meat to BBQ Chicken Cilantro. Along with pizza, they have great cheesy bread and a variety of delicious desserts.

Bombay House

Eating at Bombay House is not just about the food—it’s about the adventure, the experience. It is a complete cultural submersion for all five of your senses. The rich aroma of exotic spices; the rhythms and songs of an ancient culture; warm, intimate lighting; vibrant murals portraying scenes from Indian life and legend; oven-toasted flat bread warming your fingers as you tear a piece to eat; the exquisite flavor of sumptuous food, cooked to perfection and served with the same care and courtesy extended to family and guests of the highest honor.

Soup Kitchen

They’ve been offering fresh soups, meats and breads daily for over 30 Years. The Soup Kitchen is a favorite for soup lovers. Established in 1976, The Soup Kitchen started in their Sugar House location. It was here that the founder instilled his strengths and determination for the highest quality food available. After 30 years his fundamentals have grown into 5 locations along with a new catering company. Together with our loyal customers, The Soup Kitchen still demands and delivers nothing but the best food that money can buy.

Café Trang

Cafe Trang is a family owned and operated restaurant that has been known for serving some of the best Vietnamese food in the state since 1987. The restaurant now also offers Chinese dishes — mostly Cantonese with some Vietnamese influences. Here, traditional Vietnamese and Cantonese offerings are served in large quantities at reasonable prices. Café Trang now serves at 5 locations throughout the Salt Lake Valley.
