A good beignet can’t be beat!
There’s nothing sweeter than a busy-tailed bunny backside. This bunny beignet box will be a total standout treat for Easter! Soft and pillowy beignets, coated in flavored powdered sugar—it’s an Easter treat that’s too cute to believe.
Amy Richardson introduced us to this darling idea, inspired by the famous beignets of Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. She uses their original beignet mix, which you can find at World Market, Target, Amazon, and other retailers.
If you’re making these in Utah (or other high-altitude areas), mix in a little extra water for the perfect consistency.
Light, fluffy, and irresistibly cute—these bunny beignets are as cute as a bunny’s tail! For a festive touch, package them in decorative Easter boxes wrapped in spring-inspired ribbons. Perfect for Easter brunch, dessert tables, or as a sweet homemade gift.
Bunny Beignets
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups Cafe Du Monde Beignet Mix
- 1 cup water (add a little extra for high altitude)
METHOD
- In a medium bowl, stir together the water and beignet mix until well combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or electric skillet to 370°F, filling it 1-2 inches deep.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut dough into 2 1/2 inch circles.
- Fry each side until puffy and lightly golden.
- Remove from oil and coat generously with powdered sugar while still warm.
Add a Flavorful Touch
Once your beignets are fried to golden perfection, give them a generous dusting of powdered sugar for a classic finish. Want to elevate the flavor and add a pop of color?
