Brownie Mounds


1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1 egg
3 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts


1. In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar

2. Add corn syrup and egg; beat well.

3. Stir in chocolate and vanilla.

4. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to chocolate mixture.

5. Stir in malnuts.

6. Drop by Tbl. 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheets.

7. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 – 12 min. or until edges are firm.

8. Remove to wire racks to cool.
