She’s got great taste, but an even brighter heart. Studio 5 Style Contributor Casey Matheny makes getting dressed feel fresh and fun, and she has a knack for seeing and celebrating the everyday woman.
As Studio 5 prepares to end its 19-year-run on KSL, Casey sat down with Brooke to celebrate the style, confidence, and connection that Studio 5 stands for.
As Studio 5 with Brooke Walker prepares to sunset after 19 magical years on air, one of its most beloved contributors is taking a moment to reflect on what the experience has meant to her.
Casey Matheny, the show’s go-to style expert, has spent the last six years helping women see fashion not just as something you wear, but as a way to show up—boldly, confidently, and unapologetically.
“When I first started, I was focused on delivering tips and tricks—making sure every segment was polished and helpful,” Casey shared with Brooke. “Over the years, I’ve grown more comfortable letting my personality shine through. Fashion isn’t just about clothes—it’s about helping women feel confident, seen, and excited to get dressed every day.”
From Style Tips to Personal Growth
What began as a platform to share fashion advice became, for Casey, a deeply personal and transformational experience. Her evolving style journey mirrored the one she encouraged viewers to take alongside her.
“Personally, I’ve learned to embrace my own evolving style and to share that growth openly with viewers,” she said.
Whether helping women refresh their wardrobes or inspiring them to try something new, Casey’s segments always came with a mix of practical advice and heartfelt encouragement.
Standout Moments On-Air and Off
Of course, not all memories were made in front of the camera. Casey’s favorite on-air moment is one that brought her professional and personal lives together.
“One was the children’s back-to-school fashion segment where I got to work with two of my kids and some other live models,” she recalled. “Each child was my client with a budget, and I got to shop for them and pull a couple of looks. They modeled them on TV. I loved having my kids on set and being able to personally show my work as a stylist and on-air TV personality. I think I earned the role as ‘Fun Mom’ for the week. It was a fun memory we’ll share forever.”
Another unforgettable moment? That time Casey literally took fashion to new heights—paragliding off a mountain for the show’s “Never Could I Ever” series.
“I guess I could, and it was so fun filming that!” she laughed.
But it wasn’t just the big, bold moments that left a mark. The green room camaraderie was just as meaningful.
“The moments in the green room with the other contributors—laughing, swapping stories, helping each other with last-minute fixes—have been just as special as the on-air time,” she said. “There’s a camaraderie that comes from working together over the years, and those friendships have been a huge gift.”
When Fashion Makes a Difference
Amid all the fun, Casey’s work left a real impact. She remembers one viewer encounter in particular.
“I once had a woman stop me in the grocery store to tell me that after one of my closet clean-out segments, she went home, cleaned out her closet, and for the first time in years, she loved getting dressed in the morning,” Casey said. “She said it changed how she carried herself at work and even how she felt about herself. I’ll never forget that, because it reminded me that a small tip can create a big ripple.”
A Parting Message to Viewers
As she says goodbye to Studio 5, Casey leaves viewers with the same message she’s shared all along—this time, straight from the heart.
“Don’t wait for a special occasion to feel good in your clothes. Every day is worth showing up for—whether that’s in a great pair of jeans or a favorite dress. Your style is a tool to express who you are, so wear it boldly. And thank you for letting me into your homes and closets over these last six years—it’s been an honor.”
