Kennedy is the queen of the 5-10-30 meal, which means each recipe contains just five ingredients, costs under $10, and takes no more than 30 minutes to prepare. It’s the ultimate hack for busy home cooks who want to keep things simple without sacrificing flavor.
Kennedy shared two of her favorite meals in this category: cajun gnocchi and garlic and orzo chicken. Both dishes are packed with flavor, and best of all, they won’t break the bank. Whether you’re craving a savory, comforting dish or a lighter, protein-packed meal, these recipes are sure to satisfy.
Cajun Gnocchi
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb of smoked sausage
- 1 lb of gnocchi
- 3 tbsp of Cajun seasoning
- 1 lb bag of frozen peppers and onions
- 3 tbsp of cream cheese
METHOD
- Add the sausage, gnocchi, seasoning, and veggies to a sheet pan.
- Drizzle 2 tbsp of oil and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
- Add cream cheese and mix.
- Serve and enjoy.
Garlic and Orzo Chicken Thighs
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb of pre marinated chicken thighs
- 1 head of garlic, minced
- 1 lb of orzo
- 32 oz of chicken brot
- -1 cup of frozen peas
METHOD
- In a large skillet, sear chicken thighs for 4 minutes per side then remove chicken.
- Add garlic and orzo to the pan and toast for 2 minutes.
- Add a splash of chicken broth and deglaze the pan.
- Pour in the remaining broth, cover and cook for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Add the peas and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
