Proper support of the breast tissue at all ages is important during the various stages of life including development, nursing, menopause, larger sizes and mastectomy. Each of these have issues that are relative to that stage, but they all involve stretching of the Cooper’s ligaments, which is the only thing that naturally supports the breasts. There’s no way they can be repaired through exercise. Insufficient support can lead to headaches, backaches, tingling and numbness in the hands and fingers.

Finding the right measurements can be difficult on your own, and for the best fit you should consult an expert. But, the general formula is as follows:

1. Measure snuggly around the ribcage, under the bust for band size.

2. Measure around the fullest part of the bust for the cup size.

3. Subtract the band size from the bust size

4. If the difference is 1 you wear an A; 2 = B; 3 = C; 4 = D; etc.

Lace by Louise carries bras ranging in size from 32A – 52H and other sizes can be ordered as needed.
