Five Hot Holiday Cards for 2012

It’s exciting to see how the Christmas card trend shifts every year. Lucky for us, we don’t have to wait until the cards start arriving next month.

Photographer Veronica Reeve shares her five favorite Christmas Cards for 2012.

Only one more month until a trip to the mailbox becomes a much-anticipated event! That’s right—it’s Holiday Card season! If you are like me, a card in the mail (and maybe two or three) can really make my day. I love seeing what new creative ideas my family and friends come up with every year and I love designing my own holiday card even more! I’ve been inspired by what I have seen on the web this year. Below are a few of my favorites.

I love the feeling of the holidays that these images of warm winter pajamas, flannel sheets, and gingerbread cookies with milk invoke. Make this idea your own and take family photos with hot chocolate, pajamas, and cuddling by the fire.

I love the super large letters spelling JOY in this photo. The beanies and coats give the photo a winter-weather feel and would be the perfect look for the front of your holiday card. You could also spell out other holiday words like Noel, Peace, or your family name. Be sure to bundle up with coats and scarves!

This glowing heart has got the creative wheels turning in my head. Replace the heart with a star, Christmas tree, or letters—draped in lovely glowing white lights. The slight blurry effect of the photograph makes it even more dreamy.

Chalkboards are all over the web right now and are a cute and unique way of delivering your holiday message. Have each member of your family hold a mini chalkboard with what they want for Christmas or their names and ages.

Now that you have the perfect holiday image, you’ll need to pick out the perfect holiday card. These cards from Design Aglow have stolen my heart.
