These are some unique ways to use French baskets in your life.
French baskets are a great addition to any home, bringing in timeless charm and versatility. These aren’t just containers… they’re a blend of function and beauty, perfectly suited for any home.
Amanda Herring shared how you can use French baskets in different areas of your home and life.

In the Kitchen
Use a larger basket for displaying your favorite cutting boards or trays, or use one on your counter to display dishes. We also love them for storing things like rolling pins.
The right basket can make the perfect charcuterie board, and it also adds a touch of provincial elegance to your entertaining. A baguette basket is fabulous for parties or if you just really, really like bread.
Nothing makes a prettier pantry than a French basket. They are great for organizing and storing dry goods.
As Furniture
Finding a large antique basket is like finding gold! A large basket is great as a coffee table or nightstand, and great as a trunk at the end of the bed for blanket storage. No matter where you put a large basket, you will not only have the story of the piece to share, but also the great storage it provides.
For Flowers
We love French baskets as containers for plants, our favorite being filled with lavender and rosemary. They also work great for other plants like seasonal flowers. We just add a bit of moss in the top to hide the pots and a plastic liner in the bottom to keep the water from damaging the basket. You can also tuck a vase inside and use them for fresh flowers as well. We love the different feel this gives to cut flowers – a very “French market” feel.
Laundry Room
This is the basket’s natural habitat, and we love it for storing laundry, but also we are feeling so nostalgic and love hanging baskets from the ceiling. It’s both cute and functional, and we are loving the way it is taking us back in time.
Lifestyle
The iconic French shopping basket works in the states as well! I love to take mine to the grocery store, or anywhere I might need a bag at checkout. Mine has traveled back and forth to France many times as my carry-on.
