Salt Lake Community College recently broke ground on the first business school in Utah to be named after a woman.
Dean Trish Gorman shares details about the school set to open in Fall of 2026, the Gail Miller Business School recognizes the community contribution and business strengths of Gail Miller, owner and past chair of the Larry H Miller Company.
The Gail Miller School of Business is being designed to support experiential learning opportunities and knowledge sharing as well as increasing connections with businesses and business leaders in the community.
The building, expected to open for Fall semester of 2026, will offer students unique use of several new, high-impact spaces:

- The Market Street area will provide collaborative workspaces spaces where student-led businesses can operate store-fronts.
- A rooftop event space will host events and celebrations… and a 150-seat auditorium will be used for lectures and speaking series.
- A renovated and expanded Business Resource Instruction Center will provide group workspace and free tutoring for thousands of students.
- A mix of classroom work, networking and extra-curricular activities will help build competence and confidence – connecting people to opportunity in the workforce and matching students with potential employers
