Dr. Johnson has performed hundreds of eyelid procedures. Many times it can
be covered by insurance is it affects the eyesight of the patient. That
normally affects the upper eyelid. He has also performed lower lid
procedures and insurance has covered some of those costs, too.

It’s also important to determine if a patient needs an eyelid procedure or a
brow lift. They can both have some of the same effects, but are different and
can have different outcomes. A consultation with a patient can help
determine which is the best for the individual patient.

born and raised in Salt Lake City. He obtained his undergraduate degree from
the University of Utah. He then attended medical school at Emory University,
in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt University in
Nashville Tennessee, and completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery
Michigan with world renowned surgeon Dr. Thomas Spoor. After a few years
in North Carolina as an associate professor at Duke University, Dr. Johnsen
and his wife chose to move back to Utah to raise their children near their
extended family.

During his training and subsequent teaching, Dr. Johnsen developed a special
interest in ocular and facial trauma. He was able to sharpen his surgical skills
and become an expert in the very latest surgical techniques. With his surgical
skills and knowledge base, Dr. Johnsen is able to offer the very latest surgical
and laser advances; which shorten anesthesia time, decrease bruising and
swelling, and reduce recovery time.
