Use this witch’s broom as decor, or as part of a costume!
You can make a witch’s broom with from faux floral “greenery!” You can either buy black faux floral picks, or, spray paint any faux florals.
Michelle Crowley shared how she used three different styles of picks for texture and interest.
The base of the broom is created by trimming and then wrapping the picks together with electrical tape.
For the handle, Michelle went out into her yard and chopped down some small aspen trees. Any thick wooden dowel or existing stick can be used as the handle. Michelle wanted the natural, organic look and shape of a real tree branch.
To attach the broom base to the broom handle, drill a hole at the top of the branch the same size as one of the floral picks. The pick is somewhat sturdy in the handle as is. If it will only be used for display this is sufficient. Or, if the broomstick will be carried around or used as part of costume, it can also be secured with electrical tape.
Michelle added twinkle lights to her broomstick with a battery pack hidden inside the center of the broom base. She also added a ribbon design to the handle, as well as a finial to the top end of the stick for extra fun!
