Grandma Jo’s Holiday Slush

Whip up a festive slushdrink for the holidays.

Brooke Walker shares her Grandma JO’s recipe for holiday slush!

Holiday Slush
3 c. Sugar
6 c. Water
12 oz. Orange Juice Concentrate
42 oz. Pineapple Juice
4-5 Bananas
2 jars of Maraschino Cherries
Tbsp. Lemon Juice

Bring water to a medium heat; stir in sugar until completely dissolved. While still warm, pour water/sugar mixture into a large Tupperware container (an empty 5 gallon ice cream bucket works well, too!). Add softened frozen orange juice concentrate to warm water/sugar mixture; stir until completely melted in. Add pineapple juice. Cut Maraschino cherries into quarters and mix in. Cut bananas into quarters and use a fork to mash into smaller bits; mix in (Optional: pineapple chunks are a good addition, too!) Add lemon juice and a splash of Maraschino cherry juice, if you’d like. Freeze overnight, occasionally stirring in the first couple of hours to keep fruit from freezing at the bottom. Serve frozen, and pour Sprite or 7-Up over the top for a festive, fruity frozen drink!
