Healthy Weight vs. Healthy Body

Studio 5 Health and Fitness Contributor Melanie Douglass explains that it’s more about having a healthy body and less about a healthy weight.

Your healthy weight is just one piece of the puzzle. It’s the starting piece. So you can check on the chart to see what you should weigh.

But there are five factors that come into play in determining if you have a healthy body:

Weight

Exercise

Diet

BMI or Body Fat

Waist to Hip Ratio

Your waist should be smaller than your hips. You divide the one number into the other. For men, that final number should be less than .9 and for women, it should be less than .7. But anyone will see some benefits as long as it is below 1.0.
