Hosting overnight guests? These small touches will make them feel at home

Your overnight guests will want to come back again and again!

Whether you’re planning on guests for Easter, or a few spring break visitors, this season brings plenty of reasons to open up your home! But hosting overnight guests is more than just providing a place to sleep. You want to offer an inviting space that makes friends feel welcome.

Becky Higgins has a few small details to make a big impact on your guests’ experience. She shared three specific ways to turn your guest space into a cozy retreat without a major makeover!

Be Proactive

  • Have extra towels, throws, and pillow on hand.
  • Stock the bathroom with essentials and toiletries they can use as needed.
  • Have extra phone chargers available.
  • Post the Wi-Fi password somewhere so they can get online without needing to ask.

Be Fun With the Details

  • Create a welcome vignette with a sign, treat, and/or seasonal décor.
  • Fill a welcome basket with snacks, water bottles, and an eye mask.
  • Put fresh flowers by the bed.
  • Add a personalized message or note.

Be Intentional

  • Plan ahead for food, considering any dietary needs.
  • Plan for un-rushed time to sit and visit with your guests.
