Heidi is a creative, in every sense of the word! She’s a powerful force in the scrapbooking and paper crafting world; pioneering trends, designing products, and inspiring creativity in countless women. But beyond the craft, Heidi is a storyteller. Through deep joy and deep loss, she’s continued to create, share, and uplift. Her ability to find beauty in both the light and the dark has made her an inspiration to so many.

Heidi shared three things that have been on her mind.

Brain Health: A Personal Journey

One of the most significant topics on Heidi’s mind is brain health. She has a deeply personal connection to this subject, having lost her mother to a brain disease and her son to suicide following a traumatic brain injury. “I love learning about how to really take care of your brain,” she said.

Heidi emphasized the importance of sleep, mindful activities, and proper nutrition for maintaining brain health. “We don’t realize the tremendous impact that it has on our brain,” she noted.

Heidi’s daughter, Capri, recently underwent treatment for a brain injury. Heidi was determined to find the best care for her daughter, no matter the cost. “For two weeks, they did brain games and different activities that stimulated different parts of her brain,” Heidi explained. The results were remarkable, showing significant improvements in Capri’s brain function and circulation.

Heidi is a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. “If we think that something is terrible, and we tell our brains, like, this is the worst possible thing, then that is how we’ll feel,” she said. By visualizing positive outcomes and taking charge of her thoughts, Heidi has found a way to transform her experiences and reduce stress.

Physical Health and Creativity

Heidi also highlighted the importance of physical health for overall well-being. “We’ve got to move,” she insisted. Regular exercise, including lifting weights, has helped her maintain both physical and mental health.

Additionally, she encouraged everyone to engage in creative activities, as they are beneficial for the brain and overall happiness. “It’s not a waste of time. It’s an investment in you and in your mental health,” she said.

Visualization: A Tool for Success

Visualization is another powerful tool in Heidi’s arsenal. She uses it in her creative work and in her daily life. “I envision myself, how I want my shoulders to be. How do I want to carry myself? How do I want to feel?” she explained. This practice has helped her feel more in control and less stressed.

Heidi’s vision board is a testament to her positive outlook. Filled with inspiring words and images, it serves as a daily reminder to stay grateful and positive. “Shift is kind of my word for right now,” she shared. “I want to shift every negative perception into some kind of a grateful and positive belief.”
