Fall is the perfect time for a hair change!

We’re saying it’s the season to make a drastic hair change, because when it comes to hairstyles, four trends have come in fast and hard. If you can be brave enough to take that leap, you will instantly look and feel fresh and current.

Studio 5 Beauty & Style Contributor Megan Moore says now is the perfect time for a big transition.

The Big Blown-Out Bob

One of the standout trends this fall is the big blown-out bob. This hairstyle has made a big comeback. “It’s gorgeous with round layering, lots of movement, lots of volume,” Megan explained. The bob can be tailored to different lengths and textures, however, it does require a bit more commitment in terms of styling.

Megan suggested using a blow-dry brush, specifically one with an oval shape, to get volume and bounce. “This tool gives some nice tension to the hair so that you get that longer-lasting bounce,” she said.

Embracing Curly Bangs

Curly hair is having a moment, and this fall, it’s all about embracing those natural curls, especially with bangs. According to Megan, “we are seeing it being embraced fully more than I’ve ever seen it in my career.” The curly fringe is a fresh and playful look that brings curls to the forefront.

To maintain those perfectly separated curls, Megan recommended a bounce brush. “It separates the curls into perfect ribbons for you and you’ll get that perfect definition,” she explained.

One Length Plus One

For those who prefer a more understated change, the “one length plus one” trend is perfect. This style features a standard length with a single soft layer around the face. “If you do put your hair back, you’ve got a little bit hanging down, but the rest of it is just all one length,” Megan explained. It’s a simpler, more chic look that still offers a touch of sophistication.

To achieve the sleek, shiny finish of this style, Megan recommends a smoothing product. “It’s like skincare, but for your hair,” Megan said. It provides moisture without weighing it down.
