Utah is almost dead least when it comes to the number of insured women 40 and older who get their annual mammogram screening. Now, that should change thanks to a new mobile mammography unit in Utah from Mountain Medical.
Dr. Catherine Babcook talks about the first mobile mammography service along the Wasatch Front.
Mountain Medical is launching one of the first Mobile Mammography services in Utah. Mammograms will be performed with state-of-the-art digital equipment and will be carefully evaluated by a board-certified radiologist who specializes in breast imaging. Mountain Medical’s Mobile Mammography service will bring early cancer detection directly to patients.
Utah organizations and businesses can schedule Mountain Medical’s Mobile Mammography service onsite for the benefit of their employees. Mountain Medical’s outpatient imaging services, including mammograms, are more affordable for patients than the same services performed at local hospitals.
· Eighty percent of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease.
· Women with no family history of breast cancer have a one in eight chance of being diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime.
· Ninety-eight percent of women who find breast cancer at an early stage are cured of the disease.
· Utah competes for last place in the country for the number of insured women 40 years or older getting their annual mammogram screening.
· Patients will experience quality, comfortable and convenient care with appointments that take 30 minutes or less. Mountain Medical’s required paperwork and registration process is significantly less than that required at hospitals.
· A physician referral is not required for a screening mammogram.
