A pencil-themed treat bag is just one cute detail you can add to a back-to-school tablescape.
Back to school – it’s an annual milestone that deserves a little intention and celebration. Whether you’re a young mom or a nana, you can create a fun display in a few easy ways that will make those students feel special and ready to tackle the new year.
Michelle Inkley is helping us add a few extra details to the dinner table to make it meaningful.
One fun idea is a flashcard chandelier. With embroidery hoops or metal rings and a pack of flashcards, all found at the dollar store, you can layer the rings and hang from your light fixture for an easy impact.
Another fun favor to the dinner place setting is a treat bag – but make it look like a pencil! Using a piping bag, you can add chocolate chips as the lead tip, then goldfish crackers as the pencil, a few Hershey Kisses for the metal rim, and pink Starbursts as the eraser. Tie a ribbon and it’s a sweet reminder of the back-to-school classic pencil.
