Perfect Patio Drinks

The beverage bar becomes a refill station AND an activity center when you roll out patio drinks like these.

Wendy Paul shares three beverages that are as fun to make as they are to drink.
Mint Mojito
1 cup fresh mint leaves
4 limes
7-Up

Smash the mint leaves using a wooden spoon to bruise and bring out the flavor. Divide mint into 4-8 oz. cups. Cut limes in half.

Squeeze and place 2 halves into each glass on top of mint leaves. Add ice to fill the entire glass. Top off each glass with 7-Up. To garnish, you can place more mint or a thin lime slice.
Red, White and Blue Sangria
11 oz. fresh blueberries and or blackberries
2 cups fresh strawberries and or raspberries
6 cups white grape juice
6 cups ginger ale
Frozen berry ice cubes (see below)

In a large pitcher or pretty drink dispenser, place berries and grape juice and ginger ale. Let stand at least 1-2 hours before using. Letting the flavors come together. Fill four 8 oz. glasses with berry ice cubes. Top with sangria mixture and serve.

*To make the berry ice cubes: fill your ice cube tray with the berries of your choice. Any fruit will do. Top off with a juice or water (juice is better-water can dilute your drink) and freeze overnight. Repeat and use all summer long for a pretty, refreshing addition to your drinks.
Watermelon Slushie
4 cups frozen watermelon
1/2 cup basil simple syrup
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
2 1/2 cups cold water

Blend together all the ingredients and serve cold. Yum!
