Quick Beauty Fixes for Valentines Day

Brighter skin. Fuller lips. Look your best at the last minute with tips from
the pros.

Elase Academy shares beauty shortcuts.

Dull Skin – Exfoliate!

Regular exfoliation is critical for proper skin care and microderm is a great
solution. Treatment targets the surface cells on your face, neck, arms or
back. Microderm can also be combined, in the same treatment, with
chemical peels, in order to achieve a much deeper exfoliation.

At Home: Exfoliation should also be a regular part of your skincare routine
if you want to brighten sallow skin. Scrub your skin 3 times a week to
remove dull rough skin texture and reveal younger, brighter looking skin
that is supple and silky soft to the touch.

If you like to experiment with homemade face scrubs, mix a small palmful
of dead sea salt with several drops of olive oil or virgin coconut oil and a
few shavings of fresh ginger root. Ginger sends a warming energy below
the skin to stimulate blood circulation and boost lifeless tired skin. Perfect
on cold winter mornings.

Thin Lips

Full, luscious lips have always been synonymous with youth and beauty. But
that is only one reason for having a lip augmentation procedure. Injections
of Juvederm® can also help even out crooked lips, eliminate the vertical
wrinkles around lips, define the border of the lips, and correct scarring or
other trauma. Whatever your reason, lip augmentation is one of the most
popular procedures at Elase Medical Spas. We use a soft tissue filler called
Juvederm ®. Juvederm® is made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally
occurring material in our body, that helps attract and bind water.
Juvederm® is the safest and most effective way to achieve the perfect pout
that you want. Your first treatment will last about 3-4 months. If you are
regular with your touch-ups you can achieve results for up to 12 months.

At Home: Did you know that peppermint oil is a natural lip plumper? Apply
to lips, add some gloss and viola! beautiful full luscious lips!

Try using a natural color lip liner and line lips just barely outside your
natural line. Fill in lips with lip stick and finish it off with a shimmery gloss
to create extra plump.

Breakouts

Light chemical peels don’t really peel the skin, despite what the name
implies. They rapidly exfoliate the skin, allowing dead skin cells to shed
more effectively. By keeping dead skin cells and excess oil from clogging
the hair follicle, pore blockages and pimples can be drastically reduced.
These peels include glycolic, lactic, and salicylic.

At Home: For an instant zit zapper, dab a little white toothpaste onto it
before you go to bed. It will look considerably better by morning. Did you
know that if you put a freezing cold spoon on a blemish, it will help it go
away?

Puffy Eyes or dark circles

At Home: Try using teabags. Two teabags moistened by cold water and
patched on your puffy eyes for five to ten minutes can reinvigorate your
eyes and hold off the puffiness. Again, the coldness of the teabags can help
to increase circulation in your face. But more than that, tea has tannin that
can also help in tightening the skin in your eye area; thereby, effectively
decreasing the bulge in your eyes.

Use a little Preparation H. Gently dab the cream onto the under-eye area,
and watch as it magically reduces that tired, baggy look. It’s a great mid-
day refresher.

Streaky self tanner

When the self-tanner leaves you streaky instead of stunning, use baking
soda on a loofah to exfoliate the skin and remove the streaks. It will give
you back that healthy, even glow.
Don’t want to deal with the hassle of at home tanning lotions? Come in to
the Academy for a custom airbrush spray tan. The treatment is quick and
will leave you with beautiful tan skin.
