It sounds incredibly fancy, but this ice cream flavor is something you can make in your kitchen.
Wendy Paul shares how to make a rose ice cream.
Rose Ice Cream
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
2 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar (or sugar substitute)
8-10 drops Plant Therapy Rose essential oil
1 drop red food coloring (or half a drop, to desired coloring.)
In a small saucepan, add the milk, cream, eggs, and sugar. Simmer on low for 5-8 minutes to heat through. Remove from the stove and chill completely. Add rose essential oil and food coloring.
Place your mixture into a small Cuisinart Ice Cream maker. I love mine. It’s like the little engine that could. I’ve had it for years and basically made a whole cookbook with it. It’s durable.
Follow the directions for your ice cream maker. Serve cold of course.
