As everyone experiencing the aging process knows, your skin undergoes dramatic changes as the years pass by. And I’ve spent a lot of time educating viewers about the many non-surgical options to reverse this aging process – but I have mainly, to this point, focused on the face. But I am sure that many of you have noticed that it’s not only your faces that ages; your neck, chest, and hands do as well. And there is help for those areas too.
This time I want to introduce everyone to an incredible new technique for rejuvenating the hands. I’ve talked before on the program about Radiesse – a dermal filler that has been used primarily for filling in the deep lines that form around the mouth. Now we can use this same product to restore volume loss in the hands as well. This leads to a rejuvenated, younger-looking hand. Radiesse is a safe calcium-based filler that I inject just underneath the skin between the hand tendons. I then massage the Radiesse throughout the back of the hand. This product immediately plumps up the hand, but then also stimulates new collagen growth which then lasts for about a year. I use numbing agents during the procedure so discomfort is minimal.
Age spots are also a common problem on the hand. These brown irregular spots are caused by years of UV exposure. Even if you are religious about applying sun block on your face regularly, how many of us remember to put sunblock on the backs of our hands? Fortunately there is also an easy remedy to this problem. Laser light treatments are very effective at removing these spots. This procedure also causes very little discomfort. Two to three 10 minute treatment sessions are required, spaced out about every 2 weeks.
