The Rubber Ducky Derby is a chance to support their efforts.

• Rubber Ducky Derby, Saturday, August 25th at Raging Waters, a chance to win a 2007 Summer Yellow Chevy Aveo5 donated by Jerry Seiner Dealerships!
• Community members are invited to participate by sponsoring a ducky for only $5. Each sponsored ducky will race in the lazy river at Raging Waters. You do not need to be present to win.
• You can also purchase a flock of duckies, as well as a Ducky Deal – buy 6 ducks for the price of 5.
• Sponsor your duckies online at www.makeawishutah.org, or call 801-262-WISH. Or pick up your sponsorship form at participating Subway, American Family Insurance, and Jerry Seiner locations.
• Ducky sponsors will also receive a “buy one, get one free” pass to Raging Waters as well as other fun coupons from our sponsors.
• The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah granted 130 wishes last year. On track for 141 this year. All Utah children, all over the state.
• A wish isn’t having something or going somewhere–it’s much, much more. Hope for the future, a moment of joy, and also the message that the community cares and is rooting for the child.
• Kinds of wishes: as huge as a wish to meet the president, as humble as a wish to have a puppy.
• Who refers a child? Social workers, Primary Children’s Medical Center, parents
• 82 cents of every dollar on programs
• How do we choose which wishes we will grant? — we grant them all but that’s why we work so hard fund raising, to keep making sure we never waitlist a child or turn a child down.
• Even though we are affiliated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America with the wonderful brand and the great reputation, we are nevertheless an independently operated charity, which means that we raise our own funds here in Utah for Utah kids. This also means that everyone who makes a donation of any size is making a huge contribution to our mission.
