Shopping for Men’s Jeans

Linda Mortensen from Downeast Outfitters offers some tips to help men find the right pair of jeans.

TIPS TO FIND THE RIGHT SIZE

1. You should always make sure jeans fit your waist and thighs first. Don’t worry so much if pants are too long because you can always have them tailored.

2. If you have bigger thighs, find a relaxed fit, boot cut with more leg room.

3. Make sure the cuff of your jeans is ½ inch to 1 inch above the ground.

4. Always wear shoes when trying on jeans.

FIND YOUR STYLE

1. DATE NIGHT LOOK

A trendy, hip pair of black denim with thicker stitching, or embellished pockets is perfect for a night on the town.

2. WEEKEND CASUAL

A lighter wash, relaxed fit pair of jeans is perfect for hanging out on the weekend, or going to the park. The lighter the wash, the more casual.

3. DRESSY/WORK LOOK

A darker wash, straight leg cut is good for the workplace.

4. CLASSIC LOOK

If you like to wear the same jeans for a long time, make sure you buy a classic pair with a straight cut, that won’t go out of style.
