These are the spring outfits you can grab for all your events this season.
The calendar is filling up fast, and you need something to wear. From graduations and weddings to Memorial Day barbecues, we are covering it all.
Studio 5 Style & Fashion Contributor Casey Matheny shared a few no-fail fashion formulas.
Graduation Day: Functional Elegance
Graduation events are often all-day affairs, especially for parents. “You’re hosting people, you’ve got to look good for the ceremony… and then typically you’re hosting a party afterwards,” Casey said. Her solution is a flowy, airy dress that is elegant and practical.
“You’re not gonna sweat… You can throw on heels for the ceremony and then kick ’em off and throw on sandals for the party,” Casey explained. This kind of outfit transitions easily from formal to casual.
Wedding Season: Dance-Ready Dresses
Weddings demand a balance between sophistication and mobility. “You’ve got to look good, but you want to be comfortable. You have to be there for the ceremony, but then you also wanna dance for the party,” Casey emphasized. She recommended dresses that come in multiple color palettes and flatter all silhouettes.
Memorial Day: Neutrals with Texture
Forget the old rule about white before Memorial Day. “I wear it all the time. I do not follow that rule,” Casey said.
For this holiday, she suggested embracing whites, nudes, and creams. “ Don’t be afraid,” she emphasized. “If you want to add a pop of color, a red or a blue would look really patriotic.” A stylish drape of a sweater is perfect for cooler evenings.
Backyard Barbecue: Casual but Elevated
For casual gatherings like barbecues or local events like the rodeo, Casey advised a relaxed yet polished look. “You just want to be casual enough to socialize, but elevated enough to look your best.” Her go-to is a graphic tee in red, white, and blue, paired with a coordinating cardigan and fun accessories.
Pool Party: Versatile Coverups
Pool parties can be tricky to dress for, but Casey offered a smart solution: a linen-blend dress that doubles as a coverup. “You can either wear it open with your swimsuit underneath… or button it up all the way and you feel put together,” she advised.
She also shared a practical tip: “100% linen is going to wrinkle all the time. A blend… is going to be a little bit more forgiving.”
