The Name Game: Decorating with Monograms

Tausha Hoyt with Sassy Style Redesigns breaks it down from A to Z.

Go Big Or Go Home!

Joanne’s sells large paper Mache letters. These are great to paint, cover with fabric or even add a tutu. These can be made to fit any style and any room.

Quilted:

Fabric is not just for sewing. I covered this letter with some batting and then covered it in this fabulous green hound’s-tooth fabric. Great way to pop a color in a dark space.

Vinyl:

Now, I know that vinyl is not anything new-but I tried to put my own spin on this one.
I found an old, fabulously ugly frame at the di. I gave it a coat of white spray paint, sanded it and finished it off with a little bit of glaze. I then attached the vinyl to the front of the glass. This vinyl comes from my cute vinyl friend-her link will be up. But I loved this because it was BIG! I also used the fabulous fabric to back this piece as well.

A great statement piece with little work and little money!

Modge Podge:

It’s no secret – I love Modge Podge! Grab a basic, boring wooden letter, paint it up and modge podge some fun fabric on it. This is so easy and took me less than 5 minutes. I just finished it up with some ribbons, because I can’t help myself!

Buttons:

Cover an existing shape with buttons, or make your own letter template. Draw a letter on some paper and got to gluing. A simple frame finished off this project. I love the texture of this pieces. Fun to add anywhere in your home. Also would make a great gift for Mother’s Day.
