Homemade applesauce is not complicated to make.
It’s a recipe to rival hot chocolate after a day of winter play. Spoon up a dish of sweet, warm applesauce with a dollop of cream on top.

Hot Homemade Applesauce
INGREDIENTS
- 8 cups Cosmic, Honey crisp, and Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
METHOD
- Combine apples, water, sugar, and lemon juice in a large saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat until apples are soft, and translucent, about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Allow apple mixture to cool slightly before serving.
Serves 6
Vanilla Whipped Cream
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
METHOD
- With an electric mixer, whip cream, vanilla, and sugar together until soft peaks form.
- Chill until ready to use.
Cinnamon Whipped Cream
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
METHOD
- With an electric mixer, whip cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar together until soft peaks form.
- Chill until ready to use.
Brown Sugar Whipped Cream
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
METHOD
- With an electric mixer, mix whip cream, and brown sugar on low until dissolved. Add vanilla, and powdered sugar together and beat until soft peaks form.
- Chill until ready to use.
