5 Comfort Food Spots With All the Cozy Vibes

Comfort food, plus a cozy aesthetic, equals the perfect fall night out! The ambiance is half of what makes a good visit to a restaurant. Add delicious food to that and you’ve got yourself a new go-to!

Chelsea Fairbourn shares five spots to get good food and a cozy fall vibe.

5 Comfort Food Spots to Try

The Ridge Cafe, Draper

This spot is located at Suncrest, between Highland and Draper. It’s a little market and cafe where they serve lunch and dinner, and they have live music on the weekends. Stand out menu items are the Muffaletta, fresh halibut fish and chips, and The Ridge burger with caramelized onions. Chelsea’s recommendation: the Blanco Pizza. Get things like their house made olive spread over in the market.

Cravings Bistro, Pleasant Grove

This spot’s slogan is “grilled cheese for grown ups!” You can get all kinds of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Some are unconventional, like Spaghetti and Meatballs, or Thanksgiving Dinner. Their mac and cheese is delicious. Chelsea’s recommendation: the Monte Cristo. Not too crisp, but all the flavors you expect in a Monte Cristo sandwich.

Back 40 Ranch House Grill, Heber City

This restaurant is located right off the main highway through Heber on the way up to Park City. They’ve set up a yurt that you go our and eat in! There’s a wood burning stove inside that keeps you nice and warm. Some of the must-tries are the Back 40 burger with pastrami and the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Chelsea’s favorite: the grilled salmon with blood orange marmalade over a mushroom risotto.

Tradition, Salt Lake City

This place is kind of reminiscent of a New York dining experience. Try the brussels sprouts with pistachio glaze, and for sure the burger. It’s like a dressed up version of the Shake Shack burger. Chelsea’s favorite: the fried green tomatoes with chili jam.

Slackwater Pub and Pizzeria, Ogden

This place is definitely worth the drive if you’re a little further south. The patio is a pretty setting for a tasty meal. Make sure to try the Coco Thai Salad. It has a coconut Thai dressing with sesame seeds on top. They’re known for their pizzas, so order the Barbecue Pork Pizza. Chelsea’s fave: the California Sunrise Pizza. It has Green Goddess Dressing with avocados on top and a bit of spinach in the middle.
