Studio 5 Health Contributor Miki Eberhardt shared five superfoods she wishes we all loved! She calls this her list of underrated superfoods that might get overlooked.

 

Sardines

Health Benefits

  • Full of omega 3, vitamin D, calcium, and protein
  • Support heart health, bone health, and brain function
  • May help with mood & inflammation

If sardines are a no, try salmon.

Lentils

Health Benefits

  • Great source of fiber, folate, iron, antioxidants, and polyphenols
  • Can help regulate blood sugar
  • Great way to get animal-free protein

If lentils are a no, try chickpeas, black beans, or quinoa.

Beets

  • High in vitamin C, A, K, potassium, and iron.
  • Supports cardiovascular health
  • Improves blood flow
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Aids in digestion

Avocado
