Halloween Make-up Tips

Jonnie Hartman shared a couple of techniques for a pirates beard and ghoulish face.

Pirates Beard

Items needed

1. Black cake makeup.

2. Stiff large holed sponge (cut about 1 inch by 2 inch)

Steps

1. Dip sponge in make-up

2. Test on back of hand to make sure consistency is correct.

3. Lightly sponge onto face where hair is desired. (remember be very light you can always add more. This is also great for faux chest hair.

Ghoulish Face ( basic face for Zombie, Dracula, Mummy, or ghost)

Items Needed

1. Black and white cake make up

2. Black eye liner.

3. Make up sponge.

4. Whatever extras you want to add…faux blood, green goo, etc.

Steps

1. Cover entire face with white cake make up. ( let a little of your own skin color show through or you will look like a clown not a ghoul)

2. Draw a line with black make-up along cheekbone and blend downward creating hollow cheeks.

3. Draw black around eyes and blend. The closer to the eye the darker the color the farther away the lighter the color.

4. Draw black line down side of nose and blend with finger.

5. Darken under jaw line and around forehead with black and blend.

6. Finally, add whatever spooky effects that make your character come alive!
