Festival Chairwoman Edyth Hansen celebrates this year’s Festival by demonstrating what you’ll see at one of the many venues … the Small Fry area .. which includes small items for a child’s budget.

Within a 24-hour period, an empty exhibit hall transforms into a winter wonderland of over 700 uniquely decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, playhouses, centerpieces and gingerbread houses. Shops are filled with dolls, handmade crafts and quilts, freshly baked cookies and candies, hot scones and cinnamon rolls.
While this holiday magic lasts only four days, it continues throughout the year for those who volunteer and support the Festival of Trees. But most of all, the magic continues in the lives of children. Every penny raised from each tree, cookie and cake is used to give a “Gift of Love” to children at Primary Children’s Medical Center.
Here’s what you’ll see at the Festival of Trees, held November 28 thru December 1 at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, located at 9575 south State Street. Doors open from 10 AM to 10 PM each day. Tickets at the door are $4 for adults, $2.50 for children 2-11; $2.50 for seniors. Family tickets are $13.00 (for up to six immediate family members) Wednesday only. Discount tickets are available thru branches of Zion’s Bank.
Features include the gift boutique, more than 700 trees, a Sweet Shoppe, the Aisle of Wreaths, Playhouse Plaza, the Centerpieces and Collectibles section, the Small Fry area, delicious hot scones and sweet rolls, Santa Land, the Kids’ Korner, lots of entertainment and the Friendship Tree.
