Meet national designers, Robert and Cortney Novogratz, owners of Sixx Design and reality stars of Bravo TV’s hit show “9 by Design,” who will headline the show. This innovative duo will show attendees how to affordably design a space with a mix of new and old pieces. The Novogratz family is famous of their renovation of condemned living spaces in New York City. They really know how to turn trash into treasure and manage to raise seven children in the process.
On stage: Friday, October 8 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 9 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Join Larry Sagers, gardening expert from “The Greenhouse” radio show, Elana Johnson, interior specialist for “Home Depot” and Ken Roesbery, “The Grocery Guru,” for seminars on ways to improve to your home and yard.
Chef’s Stage: “Throwdown” Cooking Competitions Between Local Celebrities and Chefs
New to the show this year are the “Throwdown” cooking competitions between local Chef Bryan Woolley and some of Utah’s favorite radio, television and culinary personalities. Don’t miss the battle between some of Utah’s best.
A “Cupcake Challenge” where Romina Rasmussen, “Les Madelines,” Leslie Fiet, “Mini’s Cupcakes” and Megan Faulkner Brown, “The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery” will compete to find out who has the best cupcake in Utah.
Don’t miss Steve Hatch and Katie Masterson, owners of the “Hatch Family Chocolates” and stars of The Learning Channel’s hit TV show “The Little Chocolatiers,” who will make delicious holiday treats on stage all three days.

ENERGY STAR House
Learn about energy saving rebates from the Utah State Energy Program and walk through the Energy Star House. The exhibition house features multiple rooms and hands-on interactive exhibits for the whole family. Visitors will have a chance to tour the Energy Star House, learn from the experts how to make simple, energy-efficient changes at home that save energy and money.
Seminars will also be ongoing throughout the home show at the Energy Star stage. Experts in energy conservation will be on stage giving valuable advice for the upcoming winter season.
“Think Pink” Fashion Show
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and to honor some of the brave women who are survivors the fall home show in conjunction with The Gateway are sponsoring a fashion show. Come and listen to these inspiring stories of survival and see the latest fall fashion trends.
On stage: Saturday, October 9 at 1 p.m.
The Deseret News Fall Home Show at the South Towne Expo Center Friday, October 8, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, October 9, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, October 10, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and children 6 – 12 and children under 5 are free.
