1 pound package Oreo cookies, crushed
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powder sugar
3 boxes (3.4 oz.) instant pudding mix*
5 cups milk
1 cup whipping cream, well chilled
2 6-inch flowerpots
Crush cookies into crumbs, set aside.
Soften cream cheese by placing in microwave for a few seconds (it should be almost melted – but not runny), stir in powder sugar.
Beat together pudding mix and milk until thick and creamy. Fold in cream cheese mixture. Whip cream and fold into pudding mixture.
Line flowerpot with a food grade container or heavy plastic wrap. Layer approximately 1 1/2 cups pudding in flowerpot with 3/4-cup cookie crumbs. Repeat layers until pudding is used and flowerpots are filled. End with cookie crumbs on top. Cover and place in refrigerator to chill.
When ready to serve, wrap the stems of flowers with plastic wrap and insert in center of each flowerpot. Trim away excess plastic wrap from flowerpot and around stems. Arrange gummy worms in cookie crumbs for appeal.
* NOTE: Recipe is written for instant pudding, but cooked pudding may be substituted. Prepare cooked pudding according to package directions, using the milk portions in this recipe. Cool pudding completely before folding in whipped cream.
