Brisket and Broccoli Salad


1/2 to 3 lb. Brisket
1 inch finely grated ginger root
3 cloves garlic, minced
zest of 1 lemon


Rub the ginger, garlic and lemon zest over the brisket. Cover and place in fridge 1/2 hour to overnight.

Dry rub
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp black pepper
2 tsp salt
2 tsp garlic powder


Rub over marinated brisket and grill over low heat, 1/2 to one hour.

(You can add a lot of flavor and spice with 2 tsp chili powder)
Broccoli Salad
4 crowns broccoli
1 lb. Swiss cheese
1 red onion, finely chopped
1 lb. cooked and crumbled bacon
1 sml. pkg. slivered almonds


Mix well together.
Dressing
1 1/2 cups mayonaise
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup red wine vinegar.


Whisk until sugar is dissolved and toss over broccoli mixture. This salad is really at it’s best the next day.
