Caputo’s Avocado Butter


1/4 lb. unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 ripe avocado, peeled, pitted and cut into small dice
2 T fresh lime juice
1 T fresh cilantro or Italian parsley, chopped fine
1 T Worchestershire sauce
1 clove fresh garlic, minced
dash of Tabasco sauce, or other hot sauce


Blend all the ingredients together in a small bowl. Transfer the mixture to a sheet of plastic wrap and roll into a log, twisting the ends to seal. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before using. May be frozen for up to one month.

When using, place a slice of avocado butter on grilled meat, fish, chicken or vegetables.
