As we celebrate something new this month, we wanted to check out what was new on the grocery store shelves. We found everything from new baby food to chocolate bars.
We tracked down some of the new food products coming to stores near you.
Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies
These come in Chocolate Fudge and Chocolate Peanut Butter varieties. Each one has 90 calories and 5 grams of fiber. They make for a quick low-calorie chocolate fix that won’t sabotage your diet. You can find them on the granola bar aisle in your store.
Pepperidge Farm Cracker Chips
These combine the benefits of a cracker and chip. They have the more flavor than a cracker and less fat than a chip. In fact, they have 60% less fat than the leading chip. We tend to describe them as Wheat Thins meets Sun Chips. A serving has 140 calories and 4 grams of fat.
Happy Family Foods
Happy Family Foods is the umbrella company that produces a wide variety of foods for youngsters. They were the first to create baby food in a pouch and this year, they introduce Happy Munchies which are great for toddlers learning how to eat. They are organic and help encourage a broader palette for kids. They include flavors you wouldn’t normally find in baby foods. You can find them in Whole Foods, some Target stores, and online through Amazon.com. You can also find more at www.happybabyfood.com.
Go Go Squeeze Applesauce”>www.happybabyfood.com
It’s applesauce on the go. The pouch has 100% applesauce and it comes in varieties like Apple with bananas, peaches, strawberries or cinnamon. They are portable and don’t need refrigeration and be sealed up if you don’t finish it. We think it’s great for post-soccer games, back-seat of the car snacks or a lunch box surprise. Find them at Costco, WalMart or Whole Foods.
Bubble Chocolate
This had been popular in Europe and Canada for years and is finally coming to America. It comes in both a milk chocolate and dark chocolate variety. You’re encouraged to let it slowly melt in your mouth so you can feel the sensation of the bubbles melting and popping in your mouth. These are hard to find, and the one Utah store we tracked down doesn’t carry them. They can be found seasonally at TJ Maxx or Marshalls and might be appearing soon at World Market. Find a store locator at bubblechocolate.com.
Bosco Chocolate
This is a chocolate bar patterned after the famous Bosco chocolate syrup which is a regional favorite back east. Since this chocolate is brand new, you will have to work harder to find it. It should be showing up within a month at World Market and possibly Big Lots, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. You can find more at boscochocolate.com.
Savi Seed
These look like chocolate covered nuts or toffee peanuts. But don’t be fooled. They are actually seeds, super food seeds. They are the Sacha Inchi seeds, the richest source of Omega 3 on the planet. You can find more information at saviseed.com.
