Christmas Wheel of Food: These quick (and tasty) orange scones are pure holiday magic

These orange scones are what Christmas dreams are made of.

Our Christmas Wheel of Food challenge is a fun way to help you get creative in the kitchen! Our foodie friends are giving it a spin and making a delicious recipe with a traditional holiday ingredient.

Nettie Frank shares how she used oranges and whipping cream for a sweet holiday treat you can whip up in a snap. She shares how to pair these scones with a homemade marmalade, and a glaze to top it all off.

Orange Scones

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Zest 1 orange

Rub together

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 T. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream

Directions

Hand mix until it becomes a dough ball. Don’t over mix it!!

Roll out into 1/2 inch thickness, cut into triangles and bake at 375 for 20 min.

Glaze

Ingredients

  • Juice the orange
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

Whisk it together and drizzle on top!
