These are the cutest dessert tacos we’ve ever seen!
Here’s your friendly reminder, Cinco de Mayo is this Sunday! We’re leaning into this holiday with a not-so-authentic idea: dessert tacos. Filled with everything sweet, they’re the perfect way to finish off your fiesta.
Sweet Tooth Fairy Megan Faulkner Brown shared how to pull off a dessert taco bar with all the fixin’s.
Dessert Taco Bar
For the Taco Shell
SUPPLIES
- Muffin Tin
- Pack of Flour Tortillas
- Butter
- Crushed Graham Crackers
INSTRUCTIONS
- Grab a pack of cooked tortillas. Using a circle cookie cutter, punch out smaller circles using the circumference of the tortilla.
- Turn muffin tin upside down. Brush the cut-out tortilla circles in butter, and then coat in crushed graham crackers. If graham crackers aren’t your jam, try cinnamon and sugar.
- Place taco shell in between the upside-down cups of the muffin tin. This will help to create a taco-shell shape. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how crispy you like your shell.
- For an extra chocolate-y crunch, dip your tortilla shell in Sweet Tooth Fairy Meltables and sprinkles, found here.
Toppings
- For Lettuce: Shredded Coconut (mixed with green food dye)
- For Ground Beef: Crumbled Chocolate Cake or Ding Dongs
- For Ground Chicken/Turkey: Granola
- For Pico de Gallo: Strawberries, mangos, and other fruit (chopped small)
- For Cilantro: Mint Leaves
- For Sour Cream: Cheesecake Filling or Frosting
