  1. Vanishing Treasures by Katherine Rundell: If you’re a fan of nonfiction, “Vanishing Treasures” by Katherine Rundell is a must-read. This beautiful book takes readers on a journey around the world with 23 essays on under-appreciated and unusual animals. Each essay is accompanied by stunning photographs, making it a visual delight as well as an engaging read. The witty and insightful writing makes it easy to dip in and out of, making it a great gift book or a perfect companion for a cozy evening by the fire.
  2. Like Mother, Like Mother by Susan Rieger: For those who love a good family drama, “Like Mother, Like Mother” by Susan Rieger is a compelling novel about three generations of strong-willed women. The story begins in 1960s Detroit with Lila Pereira, whose life is turned upside down when her abusive father sends her mother to an asylum. As Lila grows up to become the executive editor of the Washington Globe, her daughter Grace starts to uncover family secrets and questions about her grandmother. This novel explores themes of power, ambition, and family ties, making it a perfect read for the holiday season.
  3. The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Allie Carter: If you’re in the mood for a festive mystery, look no further than “The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year” by Allie Carter. This New York Times bestselling author brings a “Knives Out” twist to the holiday season with a rivals-to-lovers romance mystery. The witty banter and intriguing plot make it a delightful read that will keep you entertained from start to finish.
