I think that everyone’s dream house contains a big front porch with ample seating and shade. Just because you don’t have one of these, doesn’t mean that you can’t create a charming and welcoming space to enjoy your yard.
Here are a few tips to get your started:
1. Add something personal
Make your home yours. Incorporate something that is meaningful to you and your family. This can be an old chair you love, a fun outdoor fabric, or even just planting your favorite flowers.
2. Brighten things up
Think about ways to bring in color. Pillows and flowers can be great for this. An old painted bench can be a fun addition too.
3. Make sure there is somewhere to sit
Even if your porch is too small to accommodate seating, you can place chairs out in your yard to enjoy those cool summer nights. Depending on the layout of your yard, you may even consider creating a small patio or terrace to accommodate seating.
4. Spend some time out there
Your neighbors are never going to come say hi if you’re not home and making them feel welcome!
