Dare, Dream, Do

We all have dreams, a life we want to live, a job we want to do or a mark we want to leave. But what separates those of us who dream and those of us whose dreams comes true? Living everyday like you believe in your dreams can’t be a bad place to start. Author of Dare, Dream, Do and Popular Harvard Business Blogger Whitney Johnson has the five steps to making any dream a reality.

Step 1: Dare to disrupt your status quo — often the biggest hurdle to making a dream a reality is believing, it is your privilege to dreaming the first place.

Step 2: Dream your very own dream — some of us know what our dreams are, but many of us don’t. The best dreams are those aren’t off-the-rack, but tailor-made.

Step 3: Date lots of dreams — there’s a no-commitment clause

Step 4: Bootstrap: dreams aren’t over the rainbow, they are right under your feet.

Step 5: Show up — and your dreams will too.

We can each achieve greater happiness when focusing both on our dreams and on other people in our lives. I encourage everyone to DARE to boldly step out, to consider disrupting life as we know it. Then DREAM, to give life to the many possibilities available, whether to start a business, run a marathon, or travel the world. “Date” dreams (no need to commit!) and make space for dreams. Finally, DO, to execute our dreams. It’s important to share your dreams with others to give them life, creating your own “dream team.”
