Fancy Pants Frame

Madison Parker with Fancy Pants Designs tells us a fun way to decorate your home with an adorable décor frame.

This unique frame has a flexible, acrylic center that can easily be embellished. The below project uses a 6 slot frame (each slot measures 5×7) including a wide variety of scrapbooking products in each frame.

Instructions:

Slot 1: Use 2 pictures placed on top and bottom in the frame piece. (approx. 4 1/2 x 3 inches) Add a simple label holder with bows.

Slot 2: Paint the background with your chosen color using regular craft paint. Paint over the majority of the space while still leaving some edge for your wall color to come through. The photos are just smaller photos, around 1 1/2 x 2 inches. Add chipboard letters and accents (“Sugar” and crown) and glue to your frame piece. You may also need to add some extra title words on cardstock as we did for the “and spice”. Next, you can glue buttons on, or actually hand-stitch them to the sheet, running along the bottom portion. (The acrylic is thicker, so it isn’t as simple as stitching through a paper or fabric, but using a metal thimble makes it quick and easy.)

Slot 3: Take a 3 1/2 x 5 inch photo and tie a coordinating ribbon around it to make a bow. Adhere to the frame piece.

Slot 4: Once again, paint the background with your chosen color of craft paint. Add the mini photo (1 1/2 x 2). Add chipboard letter and accent for titles. Again, we’ve added a couple of button accents by stitching them onto the frame piece.

Slot 5: Using a coordinating scrapbook paper, cut it down to the size of 3 1/2 x 5 and add photos. The photos are 3 x 2 inches and another small size of 1 1/2 x 2 inches. Next you can add embellishments such as the Fancy Pants Glitter Cuts (hearts) and paper die cuts (Be Happy stamp).

Slot 6: Using another coordinating scrapbook paper, cut a piece of paper to 4 1/2 x 6 inches. Next, add two photos that can be placed within the papers border. ( 3 x 2 or so) Stitch your buttons onto the paper for embellishing. This time, we stitched the finished design to the frame using a sewing machine.

Now, you have a unique home decor item made just for you! Not only are you sharing your memories, but you have also created an original design for your home!
