Fashion Trends: Bringing Back The 80’s

Studio 5 Contributor Mindy Dunyon found some places you can shop, to find the latest 80’s inspired trends and pull off the look in an understated and classy way.

This year designers are embracing the 80’s trends, from bright neon clothing to shoulder pads. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you can pull out your old stirrup pants and fluorescent t-shirts. It’s best not to overdue the look so just wear one or two 80’s inspired pieces at a time.

Q CLOTHING BOUTIQUE
1305 S. 900 East, Salt Lake City
It’s easy for women of many body types to pull off a skinny jean if you compliment it with a loose fitting top or tunic. Q Clothing has a wide array of skinny jeans and fun, unique tops and dresses to help you put it all together.

URBAN BLUES
2919 E. 3300 South, Salt Lake City
Whether you decide to pull off the 80’s trends in a biker look or a more sophisticated style, Urban Blues is the place to shop. Urban Blues has a huge selection of jeans, in any wash and any style. They even have the acid wash jeans, which yes, are back in style. And if you’re looking for fun 80’s inspired accessories, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for at Urban Blues.

WHIMSY
20005 E. 2700 South, Salt Lake City
The 80’s trends include everything from the old “members only” jackets, to bright colored neons. And of course, the classic corduroy pant. You can even mix the trends together, and the more color the better. Whimsy has all of the looks for women of all ages. And if you are looking for something unique that you probably won’t find anywhere else, Whimsy is the place to shop.
