Freedom from Debt’s Oppression

Matt Peterson shares some great tips for getting out of debt as well as some great resources to help you along your path to a debt-free life.

Debt is costing you more than you think. It’s costing you your freedom. That’s the assertion of WakeUpNow CEO Matt Peterson. Peterson’s company utilizes proprietary software and Smartphone applications, called CurrentSee, to help people calculate how many months it will take to become debt free without being forced to live off rice and beans.

Matt Peterson says, “Our mantra is, ‘Bringing people to the door that leads them to peace, happiness and joy through acting in wholeness, oneness, completeness, reliability and stability.’ None of these things can be accomplished while one is in debt.”

He adds, “The scary thing is that most people are not doing anything about their debt! Many feel that they are free while in debt. They feel that their current debt management plan is allowing them to live a life of peace, happiness and joy. They don’t know what they don’t know. Those we help get out of debt are saying things like, ‘I had no idea what freedom was until I started to experience life without the oppression of debt.'”

Peterson says his company makes its clients aware of how every daily transaction is affecting their quest to become debt free. He notes, “For example, with our CurrentSee software, our members can see how every transaction throughout their normal day is affecting their custom debt reduction plan. We have another program, under development, that will alert people of their current budget balance for a particular type of expense—virtually in real time as they use their CurrentSee account. Every person’s profile is different. What people need when they’re trying to get out of debt is more than just a budget. It’s more than just a one-time snapshot of where they are. People are too busy to spend time each day balancing their life with their expenses. So, our technology puts their progress on their computer desktop, iPhone or Blackberry and into their consciousness each time they spend money.”

Peterson suggests that getting out of debt isn’t just about wiser spending choices. He says, “The best thing a person can do is to start his or her own part-time business, then use the allowances available under tax law to maximize their earnings and apply it to the debt reduction. At WakeUpNow, we actually allow our clients—we call them members–to sell our membership packages to others for profit.”
