What is a Water Check?
A Water Check analyzes the efficiency of your automated sprinkler system. A horticulture intern will perform the Water Check at your home and provide you with a customized watering schedule.
The tests that will be performed include soil type, grass root depth, sprinkler distribution uniformity and water pressure. The entire process will take approximately one hour.
When and where are they available?
Water Checks are available from June through August in the following counties: Davis, Duchesne, Garfield, Juab, Piute, Salt Lake, Uintah, Utah, Wasatch, Washington, and Weber.
How much does it cost?
The Water Check Program is a free service.

The water check program is sponsored by: Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, Central Utah Water Conservancy District, Washington County Water Conservancy District, Sandy City, Murray City, Salt Lake City and Utah State University.
Who sponsors the Slow the Flow campaign?
The Governor’s Water Conservation Team strives to encourage water conservation at a statewide level and to establish a long-term conservation ethic among Utahns. Their objective is to reduce per capita water use by at
least 25 percent by 2050.
The Governor’s Water Conservation Team includes representatives from the Central Utah Water Conservancy District, Division of Water Resources, Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy City, Washington County Water Conservancy District, Weber Basin Water Conservancy District, Rural Water Users Association of Utah, among other representatives from the water and green industry.
