Grandma Jo’s Brown Bag Apple Pie

Crust
1 and 1/2 cups of flour
1 and 1 half teaspoons of sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Wesson oil
2 table spoons of cold milk


Combine together and pat evenly in a 9 inch glass pie tin.
Filling
4 cups sliced yellow delicious apples
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons of flour
3/4 heaping teaspoon of nutmeg
1 and 1/4 heaping teaspoons of cinnamon


Mix together and layer evenly over crust.
Topping
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 square butter or margarine


Drop evenly and crumble all over pie. Make sure you cover all the ends!
Bake pie in large brown paper sack from the grocery store
Loosely staple top and roll down once.
Lay sack flat, bottom down. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
Don’t peek until done!
